If you go to a comparison site and it asks you to enter the name of your tariff,  and you cannot because it is not listed, so you leave that blank and enter the amount you spent in 1 year, the site will use the name of your supplier and calculate the number of kwhs you have used for the amount you spent, this will most likely be a lot less than you have really used, and yet they will say you can make a big saving. Click on the info to see the delails of the supplier you selected, this will show the amount of kwhs you have supposed to have used, but it will be the amount equal to what you are spending. Not the amount you have really used.That is why you need to know the true total cost for what you are using, yet they will still say you can make a saving.
